Kochur Loti chochori (Arum lobe)
"Kochur Loti Chochori" is an old traditional recipe of Bengal. Bengali people have this amazing dish at launch with steam rice. I learn this recipe from my grandmother. Today I am going to share this recipe with you all. Let's see how to cook "Kochur Loti Chochori".

INGREDIENTS
- Mustard oil.
- kochur Loti (Arum lobe). (500gms)
- Kalojeera / Black onion seed.
- 1 large onion.
- Poppyseed.
- White mustard seed.
- Salt.
- sugar.
- Turmeric powder.
- Dry red chili.
- 1 tablespoon of green chili paste.
PREPARATION
- Cut the Kochur Loti / Arum lobe into 1-inch pieces. Then finely chop the onion.
- Coat the arum lobe with a little salt and turmeric powder.
- Take 1 tablespoon of poppyseed and 1 tablespoon of a white mustard seed to make a fine paste.
COOKING METHOD
- Take a shallow saucepan to add 3 tablespoons of mustard oil.
- After a few seconds, when the oil is hot enough add a pinch of Kalo jeera/black onion seed.
- After that add 1 dry red chili and fry till the spicy smell not coming out.
- Then pour the chopped onion and fry till it became golden brown and tender.
- Add the Kochur loti and mix them all well.
- In this stage, add salt to taste, 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder, 1/2 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of green chili paste.
- Add 1/2 cup of water mix them properly and cover it for 5 minutes in medium heat.
- After 5 minutes, when the water is dried then add the poppyseed and white mustard seed paste and another 1//2 cup of water.
- Again cover the saucepan for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes the water is dissolved and the Kochur loti / Arum lobe is tender. Turn the gas off and enjoy the recipe with steam rice.
