Butter Roti and Chana Dal

                                          "Butter Roti and Chana Dal" is a well known Punjabi recipe. It is very tasty and healthy. and easy to make. It is special in North India but today all over India, people having this item easily today are going to learn how to cook "Butter roti and Chana Dal".

Ingredients for "Butter Roti   
                                                                                       Ingredients for " Chana Dal"
  1.  All-purpose flour / Maida
  2. Butter                                                                       1. 150 gms of Chana dal. 
  3. Yogurt.                                                                     2. 2 Bay leaves.
  4. Pinch of salt.                                                            3. 2 Dry red chilies.
  5. Water.                                                                       4. 1 tablespoon cumin seed.
  6. 1 spoon sugar.                                                          5. 2  chopped tomatoes. 
  7. 2 tablespoon of white oil.                                        6. Cumin powder
                                                                                           7.Coriander powder.
                                                                                           8. Turmeric powder.
                                                                                           9. Salt.                                                                                                                                                          10. Mustard oil. 
                                                            11. Garam masala powder.

Preparation For Cooking

 1. Make a soft dough with All the ingredients except butter mentioned before.
 2. Soak all the chana dal for 2 to 3 hours and boil them in a pressure cooker till 5 whistles.
 
Cooking Method

 Step-1 [Butter Roti] 
 
     1. Take the dough and make small balls with it.
     2. Make round shape Roti using a rolling pin.
     3. Now take a  Frying pan and grease it with butter then place the roti and fry both sides.
     4. Do the same with all the rotis.
     5. Shift them on a plate and again spread butter on it.

Step-2 [ Chana Dal]

    1. Take a saucepan to add 4 tablespoons of mastered oil wait for the oil to become hot.
    2. Now add Cumin seed, bay leaves, and dry red chilies.
    3. when it starts smelling add chopped tomatoes. saute till it became tender.
    4. Then add salt to taste, turmeric powder and sugar. again stir it properly.
    5. After 5 minutes add the boiled dal and add Cumin powder, coriander powder. Mix them well.
    6. Then add 2 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of garam masala powder. Cover the saucepan till the water dries and became gravy.
