Sorshe Tilapia Jhal

                                           Tilapia is a very common sweet water fish and it's full of flesh. Bengali people love this fish either it is light curry or it's Gravy. Today I am going to share with you all a kind of dish which is very tasty and very easy to make. It's called " Sorshe Tilapia Jhal"we just need a few basic ingredients to make the dish. So, let's check How to make the yummy Bengali Dish " Sorshe Tilapia Jhal".

  • For 4 people.
  • Preparation time 10 minutes.
  • Cooking time 20 minutes.

Let's see the Ingredients
  1.  Medium size Tilapia Fish.
  2. 1 cup of mustard oil.
  3. Fresh Coriander leaves ( 10 gms).
  4. 2 tablespoons of white mustard seed.
  5. 1/2 tablespoon of a poppy seed.
  6. 3 Green chilies.
  7. Turmeric powder.
  8. Salt.
Preparation
  1.  Marinate those fish with 1 tablespoon of salt and 1/2 tablespoon of turmeric powder. keep them aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile take a Grinding jar to add 2 tablespoons of white mustard seed, Poppyseed, 3 green chilies, and fresh coriander leaves. 
  3. Make a smooth paste with them and keep them also aside for later use. 

Cooking Method
  1. Take a saucepan to add 3/4 cup of oil and let the oil become nice hot. 
  2. Then deep fry the marinated fishes.
  3. Both sides of the fish should be nicely golden brown in color.
  4. After that remove the oil and leave only 2 tablespoons of oil into the saucepan.
  5. turn the flame into medium and pour the smooth paste into the saucepan.
  6. Add salt to taste and 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder and stir continuously.
  7. Then add the fried fish and mix them with the gravy,
  8. After 2 to 3 minutes add 1/2 cup of water and cover it for 5 minutes.
  9. Last spread 1 tablespoon of mustard oil top of it.
                                      Enjoy your  " Sorshe Tilapia Jhal " with steam rice.
