Punjabi Style Rajma Recipe

                               "Rajma" is a very popular food in the state of India, Punjab.  We can say that this dish is one of the popular and most eaten recipes of Punjab. This dish is very tasty and healthy. They commonly eat this dish along with Rice. So they call them " Rajma Chawal". So, Let's learn how to cook Delicious "Rajma".

Ingredients
  1. Kidney Beans / Rajma (250 gms)
  2. Mustard oil ( 1/2 cup)
  3. Butter ( 2 tablespoons)
  4. Ginger-Garlic paste ( 2 tablespoons)
  5. Chopped onion ( 2 onions)
  6. Chopped tomatoes ( 2 tomatoes)
  7. Chopped coriander leaves
  8. Salt.
  9. Turmeric powder.
  10. Cumin powder.
  11. Coriander powder.
  12. Red chili powder.
  13. Garam masala powder.
  14. A pinch of cumin seeds.
Preparation

              Soak the kidney beans / Rajma overnight. Then boil them into a pressure cooker, wait for at least 6 to 7 whistles.

Cooking Method
  1. Take a saucepan to heat the mustard oil. once the oil is hot enough add a Pinch of cumin seeds.
  2. After that add the ginger-garlic paste to the saucepan. When the rawness is gone, add the chopped onions and saute them till they become golden brown. 
  3. It's time to add chopped tomatoes now you add salt to your taste. give them a quick stir and cover for 2 minutes.
  4. Uncover the pan and add 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder, 1 tablespoon of cumin powder, and 1 tablespoon of coriander powder.
  5. Give them all a good mix Add a splash of water then add the boiled Rajma Mix them with the gravy.
  6. Cover the saucepan and let them cook for 10 minutes.
  7. After 10 minutes add 1 cup of water give it a mix and let them cook for another 10 minutes.
  8. Lastly add the butter, chopped coriander leaves, and 1/2 tablespoon of garam masala powder.
                                                   Enjoy " Rajma" with steam rice.
